SAT Math - Age Problems

Age problems are another type of algebra word problems. The problems typically compare ages of one or more people either in the past or future. Common age problems that you are likely to encounter in SAT are:

  1. Single Person Age Problems: These are relatively simpler problems and do not require you to construct an algebraic equation to get the answer. Usually just number operations are enough.
  2. Two Person Age Problems: The best approach to solve problems of this type is to construct a table. This way you can organize the information and convert it into an equation.

While solving age problems its a good idea to create a table with columns that lists age at various intervals. The table helps you organize the information more efficiently and solve the problem without making errors.
