Our courses are taught by experienced and dedicated teachers.

Adam Lampert

Adam Lampert directed the creation of the Barron's GRE course. Taking an extremely pragmatic approach to test prep, Adam oversaw the production of this course content with one goal in mind: getting students higher scores.

Adam believes that education is a living, growing entity, and teachers should strive to continually improve their classroom tools to help students get the very most out of every day. He explains his approach to instruction with a famous quote: "After teaching all day, if you didn't learn anything, you probably didn't teach anything either."

Adam has scored in the 99th percentile on nearly every standardized test available (PSAT, SAT, ACT and GRE). After graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, Adam cut his test prep chops working for several large, prestigious test prep companies where he quickly rose through the ranks as a standout educator and content developer, eventually founding his own firm based on principles of individualized education.

Ender Markal

Ender Markal is a primary contributor to the Quantitative Reasoning section of Barron's online GRE course. Relying on a wealth of expertise and mathematical knowledge, Ender is an expert on guiding students in their efforts to learn highly difficult topics by offering simple but effective problem solving tools and an abundance of useful tricks and tips to test-takers.

Ender has a Mechanical Engineering degree from METU in Turkey and an MBA in finance from the University of Rochester. Ender has worked with hundreds of students since 1992 to improve their scores on standardized tests such as the GRE, GMAT and SAT. Ender is also one of the authors of Barron's best-selling GMAT books.

Orion Taraban

Orion is an expert on the Quantitative section of the GRE, having achieved a perfect score on that section of the test. His extensive theater background (including numerous leading roles in Broadway musicals and productions!) gives him the communicative skills that often elude teachers of such substantial mathematical expertise.

Orion is currently enrolled in a PhD program at UCSF, where he continues to develop his love for and pursuit of higher education and problem solving.

Kevin Rocci

Kevin Rocci is an English language educator who believes that education should be fun, personal, and practical. Kevin's infectious love for all things literary is an undeniable part of his teaching presence; he consistently demonstrates that classroom progress is not only achieved through expertise, but entertainment as well.

Kevin gained significant teaching experience during his time as a fellow at UC Santa Cruz's Adlai Stevenson College, as an English instructor at middle schools in rural Japan, and as a teacher and tutor of the GRE, GMAT, and SAT at his private test clinic in San Francisco.

Sarah DeSmet

Sarah graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Mathematics and Economics. With a passion for explaining & understanding mathematics, she has professionally tutored all levels of mathematics, from the ages of 5 to 50.

Sarah is also an expert test-taker, with an overall GRE score of 1500 and a Quantitative score of 790 (on the old GRE) under her belt. She is currently teaching mathematics in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where her love for problem-solving and demystifying complicated test questions continues to grow.
