Barron's New GRE 19th Edition

Sharon Weiner Green, M.A., and Ira K. Wolf, Ph.D.

Barron's NEW GRE manual is based on the new test structure and questions types of the revised GRE. . Although the GRE's Analytical Writing section is essentially unchanged, new question types have been introduced in both the GRE's Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections. This test prep manual exhaustively covers all the topics and question types introduced in the revised GRE. More specifically it contains test taking strategies and practice questions for the revised GRE:

  •   Verbal Reasoning Section: The verbal section of the revised GRE now includes two different types of sentence completion questions. The sentence equivalence question requires the test takers to identify two answer choices that retain the original meaning of the sentence. The text completion questions, some involving passages of several sentences and requires test takers to fill in up to three blanks. In addition, there are two important changes in the reading comprehension questions. Some of the reading comprehension questions in the revised GRE can have more than one correct answer. There is also a new question type that involves selecting individual sentences within a passage.
  •   Quantitative Reasoning Section: As in the past, this section contains standard multiple-choice questions, as well as quantitative comparison questions. There are two new question types: multiple-choice questions that have more than one correct answer choice, each of which has to be selected, and numeric entry questions, which are the only questions on the test for which no answer choices are provided.

Barron's new GRE manual offers intensive practice and review for all question types plus a diagnostic test and two full-length model GREs with answer keys and explanations for all questions answered.
